About the exhibition:
Trans Uzbekistan exhibition enters series of specialized transportation events, which are being organized by ITE company in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Russia.
Annual holding of the Trans Uzbekistan exhibition in Uzbekistan promotes development of transportation services, which are being provided by the national companies of various countries, as well as accelerates development of a large spectrum of related services in the field of transportation and logistics of cargo, maintenance and support manning of transportation means.
Why Uzbekistan?
• Republic of Uzbekistan is the country that has plentiful resources of oil, minerals and cotton. Its population is 28.3 million people and the territory is equal to 447,000 sq.km.
• Due to its unique geographical location, Uzbekistan is a peculiar bridge between Europe and Asia and is a reliable link of international transit.
• Uzbekistan has all, except for marine, modern means of transport. In 2004, 714.9 million tons of freight and 3.5 billion passengers were carried out in Uzbekistan. The main part of freight turnover belongs to railway, automobile and pipeline transports. And main part of passenger turnovers belong to automobile, air, and railway transports. The total length of paved roads in the Republic equals to about 80 thousand kilometers, while length of railways equals 5 thousand kilometers.
• During recent years Uzbekistan launched new transport routes in addition to existing ones: for example, particularly in the South and south-western directions (in the north direction). Technical park of aircrafts, locomotives, train cars, and automobiles was renewed. A large number of infrastructural objects underwent modernization. Today, the Republic has more diversified accesses to world markets. And work on widening of these possibilities this direction is actively continued.
• Investment projects in transport industry such as Improvement of passenger railway transport / Reconstruction of railways of Uzbekistan / Renewal of locomotive fleet / Modernization of diesel locomotives and reconstruction of foundries are being implemented in the country.
• 34.3 mln. tons of cargo that constitute 102 % of the last year’s reporting period, were transported by SJSRC Uzbekistan Temir Yullari over 5 months of 2005. The freight turnover was fulfilled for 100 % and has come to 13 billion 342 million tons-kilometers. The passenger turnover has come to 1 billion 283 million tons-kilometers.
• Dynamics of service rendered by the national airline company “Uzbekistan Havo Yo’llari” show that in 2005 in comparison to 2004 passenger turnover amounted to 104%, including to CIS countries - 108%, freight turnover - 96%, including to CIS countries - 109,2%.
